Shabbat Shalom from Yachad Cleveland!

Hello friends, Hope you and your loved ones are all staying safe, cool and that you enjoyed your week! Wishing you a rejuvenating weekend ahead and a Shabbat Shalom!

The “Yachad on Demand” virtual programs calendar for the week of 7/13 is attached below, along with a Social Story for turbulent times, Parsha activity and Tehillim packet. There are regular virtual events always happening and being offered through “Yachad On Demand.” Please check this site regularly as there are multiple opportunities per day to connect through Zoom. Instead of emailing you daily, this is a more efficient way to stay up to date on daily happenings here: yachad.org/yachadondemand.

Please note there are also Parent and sibling Support sessions, creative workshops, live demonstrations and educational resources listed on this site. If you cannot join events live, the recorded sessions are also usually available to view later at your convenience.

I also try to post weekly events on our Facebook page, here: Yachad Cleveland Facebook Group
and in our WhatsApp group here: Yachad Cleveland Updates — WhatsApp Group

Israel B’Yachad

During these trying times, there are a number of initiatives we are starting for our Yachad members and in support of Yachad Israel chapter:

The OU has a letter writing campaign for IDF soldiers, there is a tehillim list circulating for Yachad friends and family that need our tefillot (Should anyone want to add names its yachad.org/tehillim), a Pizza 4 Soldiers program starting (stay tuned for more details), and more robust virtual programs to help our Yachad Israel friends cope and maintain some normalcy.

We encourage you to participate and attend as many of these programs as possible.

Support Our IDF Soldiers Now!
To our dear Yachad community,

Israel is currently facing a very challenging situation, with tens of thousands of IDF soldiers and reservists bravely confronting unprecedented challenges on the front lines. Showing our love and support can make a world of difference.

We invite you to join us in a small act of kindness. Your support can bring comfort and encouragement to these brave soldiers. Click here:
https://www.yachad.org/pizza4soldiers
to send some delicious pizza pies made and delivered to our heroes by our Yachad participants.

All proceeds from this initiative will go to Yachad Israel Programming, aimed at helping the families affected by the current situation.

Your partnership means the world to us,
Yachad Israel

Past Events

Tuesday, July 8: Tefilla Talk Tuesdays
Our Tefilla Talk is an opportunity to catch up with friends from all over and a virtual space to connect with one another and learn about holidays and Jewish prayer concepts.

Wednesday, June 25: Outdoor Movie Night
After voting and selecting Mufasa as our film of choice, we enjoyed beautiful weather for an outdoor movie night! Fresh popped popcorn and hanging out with friends were other highlights of the evening– Thanks to everyone who joined us!

Monday, June 9: GBY Women’s End of Year Dinner
What a great year together with our women’s division! We re-capped the past 12 months of events and talked about our favorites and activity highlights. We enjoyed dinner together at the park, reviewed our photo calendar, and shared the things we learned and the friendships we made.

Wednesday, June 4: Closing BBQ
It was not goodbye, only a celebration of another incredible year! The evening’s theme of “Whatever the Weather” highlighted the dedication of our Yachad participants to our mission of inclusion: Joining events when it’s hard, committing to friendships when it’s tough, and-quite literally- coming to programs in nasty weather- are all illustrations of the type of commitment we were celebrating! We enjoyed a BBQ dinner together, loved seeing ourselves in the photo slideshow of events throughout the year and received gifts for any weather — to make sure we are equipped to succeed no matter what nature brings us! Looking forward to our summer session!

Monday, May 26: Memorial Day Parade!
One of our most popular traditions is marching in the University Heights Memorial Day Parade! The weather was perfect and we loved representing Yachad, spreading the love (and candy) in our community and being outdoors and active on a beautiful day!

Wednesday, May 21: Final Pizza Partners: Shavuot Edition
For our final dinner program until next Fall, we enjoyed food, special birthday desserts, and a Shavuot activity. Thank you to everyone who joined us and to Milky Way for being our gracious host all year!
